More information about capital accumulation benefits
The capital contribution (vL) is a cash benefit agreed by the employer in Germany in the collective agreement, in a company agreement or in the employment contract.
The capital contribution is transferred directly from the employer to the investment account specified by the employee. Depending on the contract, the employee must or can add something to himself.
According to the Fifth Law on the Creation of Capital Accumulation, the capital contribution is subsidized by the state with a worker savings bonus (ANSpZ).
The eligible, long-term forms of savings are prescribed by law.
As a rule, the term is seven years, with the last year being non-contributory.
As an employee, you may invest up to € 480 a year in the income statement. That’s 40 euros per month, which your employer ideally assumes completely.
Opportunities-rich investment options of VL savings: home savings, bank savings plan, equity savings plan, company pension and repayment of a construction loan
State funding: For example, VL savers receive the employee savings bonus and the housing subsidy, as well as the Wohnriesterprämie. (Further information can be found under Pension – Riester and Financing – Wohnriester.)
